Zaragoza

Zaragoza

Zaragoza is the capital of the Region of Aragon and is located on the banks of the river Ebro, halfway between Madrid and Barcelona.

In Zaragoza you will find a stunning legacy of monuments in the streets of the city, vestiges of the Roman, Moorish, Jewish and Christian communities who left their mark on the place. There are the Roman ruins such as the Circus, the Aljaferia Palace and Mudejar-style churches to name just a few. Then there are Baroque gems like the Pilar Basilica and the work of brilliant artist Fancisco de Goya. If you like art, then Zaragoza is the perfect place to visit.

The city is famous for its folklore, a renowned local gastronomy, its trilogy of landmarks - the Basilica del Pilar, the La Seo Cathedral and the Aljaferia Palace. Together with La Seo and the Aljaferia (castle-palace), several other buildings form part of the Mudejar Architecture of Aragon, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Fiestas del Pilar are among the most celebrated festivals in Spain.

Zaragoza has a large range of shops to suit all tastes, from pedestrian areas to large shopping centres, and not forgetting the street markets. Take a stroll through the streets of the city and feel the bustle and vitality.

Zaragoza Castle

Zaragoza enjoys it's nightlife. Pubs, nightclubs, bars and terrace bars open their doors until the early hours of the morning. Fun is assured in a city with wonderful nightlife at any time of year. You will see for yourself when you explore the main areas for going out. You'll be back for more.

During the daytime, take a stroll around Zaragoza and explore the streets. This city is compact, ideal to wander on foot, and its boulevards, avenues and pedestrian areas are perfect for a stroll.
